One of my friends told me that drinking lemon in lukewarm water on an empty stomach in the early morning will only reduce your skin from inside that will create wrinkles on your face and body.
I have a constipation problem most of the time. I tried this process for one week and I found it was satisfactory. My constipation problem was almost gone.
But after one week I didn't try this process in the morning. And my problem starts again. This process not only solved my constipation problem but also removes toxins from my stomach.
But I am afraid if I use this process regularly, then it will create other problems.
Please advise - was my friend right, if I drink lemon water regularly, will it create wrinkles on my face and body?
I don't want to lose weight, but I just want to get rid of my constipation problem or clear my stomach from the toxins.
Will this process also purify blood? Please advise.
Thank you for your comments and questions. I will address each part:
1) Constipation. I am glad to hear you experienced the benefits of lemon juice to help alleviate constipation and cleanse the bowels.
Lemon juice is similar in atomic structure to saliva, hydrochloric acid, bile and the stomach’s other digestive juices.
This is one of the main reasons why it is so beneficial for the stomach and bowels.
2) Wrinkles. I do not agree with your friend that lemon juice will increase wrinkles. If he or she has any information to back that claim, please ask them to send it to me.
Wrinkles happen primarily because of chronic dehydration in the body, as well as oxidation (free radical damage), environmental factors and toxins (excess sun or chemical exposure), as well as some hereditary factors.
Drinking lemon in water increases hydration. However, it is still critical to drink enough plain water daily (half your body weight in ounces), especially when drinking lemon juice so that the toxins will be effectively flushed out of the body.
Lemon juice is also alkalizing in the body, thus reducing the accumulation of acidic waste and toxins in the body, which is a primary contributor to oxidation (which is what causes aging in the body and wrinkles on the skin).
Lemon juice also replenishes critical enzymes in the body. Enzyme therapy is considered a key natural way to slow the aging process.
We are born with a limited number of enzymes. When these enzymes are all used up, we die. It's that simple. So replenishing our enzymes daily by eating or juicing fresh, organic fruits and vegetables is important.
Purify blood. According to Jethro Kloss, author of Back to Eden and A.F. Beddoe, author of Biological Ionization as Applied to Human Nutrition, drinking lemon juice does help to purify the blood.
To your health!
Question: Is there any other way to purify blood besides drinking lemon water?
Nancy's Response: Yes, there are other many other ways to purify blood. I believe enzymes are one of the keys to blood purification, which is the main reason why lemon water is so effective.
Thus, anything that increases enzymatic action will be beneficial for blood purification - such as eating an abundance of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables daily to replenish enzymes and boost enzyme activity in the body.
You could also take a systemic enzyme supplement. These are different than digestive enzymes because they "digest" foreign protein (toxins, viruses, bacteria, cysts, etc.) throughout the entire body. The product I recommend is called Wobenzym N by Garden of Life. It is also very effective for reducing joint pain and inflammation.
The key with systemic enzymes is that you take them in between meals so that they can do more work in the blood stream rather than getting hung up in digesting food.
Of course, the best way to keep the blood clean in the first place is by staying fully hydrated!
When the body is dehydrated, the blood thickens and blood flow starts to slow down, causing all sorts of problems and accumulation of toxins. Be sure to check out my page on how much and how often to drink water.
Alkaline, ionized water is ideal for blood purification. The reason for this is because it is up to six times more hydrating than regular water. It is also a potent antioxidant, which neutralizes free radicals in the body and helps to remove acidic waste.
There are a number of herbs that are also effective at purifying the blood. Just a few of the herbs I recommend include: burdock root, ginger, cayenne pepper, echinacea, dandelion root, and milk thistle.
Hope this helps . . .
To your health,
Caution: As always, it is important for people to consult their doctor or natural health practitioner before taking any blood purification supplements, especially if they are on medication or are taking other herbs.

"Lemon water is one drink both my wife and I can't drink. It upsets our stomachs. We are in our sixties and in very good health—well, better health now that we drink about 2 liters plus of water each day. It has made so much difference to our digestive systems and recovery every day. Thank you for your website and effort." - Rod
