Water Benefits Health News -- Drinking Water to Lose Weight and Detoxify Your Body in Spring
April 15, 2014

Water Benefits Health News, Issue #25

April 15, 2014

Hello, Water Friend,

Spring is the ideal season for losing weight and cleansing the body. The body naturally wants to eliminate the accumulation of toxins and extra weight most of us put on from the normal consumption of heavier foods during the colder, winter months.

In addition, spring invites us to go outdoors and be more active. If you would like to lose a few (or many) pounds this spring, drinking more clean water is the place to start!

Clinical studies have proven that drinking adequate water daily can increase weight loss.

This does not mean that you will lose 5 pounds a week just drinking more water. But it can make all the difference if you are also changing your eating habits and getting at least minimal exercise (such as a 15-minute daily walk.

As a nutrition and weight management consultant, I have seen the difference in clients who are committed to drinking enough water daily and those who are not.

But even if you are not interested in losing weight, drinking more water in early spring is also beneficial because it helps the body’s normal process of detoxification to remove accumulated toxins and to cleanse the blood.

Your body stores toxins in fat cells to protect the critical organs from cellular damage. If you are even slightly dehydrated, your body will typically not release those toxins.

Thus, drink more filtered, mineral-rich water this month for optimal hydration and let your body do what it does naturally!

To your health and wellness,

Nancy Hearn, CNC

Drinking Water to Lose Weight—Clinical Studies Validate the Benefits

Clinical studies have proven the benefits of drinking water to lose weight. Dieters may find this helpful to know.

Any effective weight-loss program includes key factors such as healthy eating and meal planning, regular exercise and stress management. Drinking water is the foundation of each of these factors, and many more.

Water, in fact, is involved in every function in the human body, including the flow of lymph and blood through the body, the transfer of nutrients to the cells and tissues, the removal of wastes out of the cells, the balance of hormones and the regulation of metabolism, just to name a few.

Most weight-loss advocates encourage dieters to “drink plenty of water.” However, without knowing the reason behind this advice, many dieters find it hard to actually drink enough water to experience the long-term, weight-loss benefits.
