Water Benefits Health News -- Drinking Water and Allergies April 08, 2013 |
Water Benefits Health News, Issue #16April 7, 2013 Hello, Water Friend, I work in the vitamin department of a health food store in Phoenix, Arizona, and during the past few weeks of early spring weather, I have been reminded of how many people suffer from allergies. Dozens of people have come in every day looking for natural supplements to relieve the common symptoms of seasonal allergies – runny nose, itchy or sore throat, sneezing, and watery or itchy eyes. So I show them all the common natural supplements for allergy relief, including local bee pollen, quercetin, and herbs such as eyebright and nettles, as well as a wide range of vitamin, herbal, and homeopathic formulas that give some relief to some people. More importantly, I try to educate people about the importance of hydration and high-quality drinking water – because I believe, in most cases, chronic dehydration is the primary underlying cause of allergies. After suffering lifelong allergies myself, several years ago I committed 6 months to re-hydrating my body. To this day, my allergies are about 95 percent gone. You can read my short story below. In this issue, we are focusing on proper hydration for allergy and asthma relief – and you can read what worked best for me. Even if you do not suffer from allergies, I am sure you know someone who does. Perhaps you will do them a favor and forward this message to them . . . In addition, the information in these articles is just as relevant for overall health, whether you have allergies or not. But please note that re-hydrating your body is not a quick fix. It may takes weeks, months, or even a few years to hydrate your body if you have been chronically dehydrated for many years. So stick with a rehydration plan (as outlined in my articles below) and don’t expect immediate results. No matter what, you will be giving your body one of the most essential nutrients it needs (WATER) for every single biological function.
To your health and allergy relief,

Natural Allergy Remedies – Water, Water, and More Water! Since early childhood, I lived with the common allergy symptoms of runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Every year I would dread allergy season. After receiving some of the typical medical treatments during childhood, I started looking for natural allergy remedies in my early twenties. Over a period of 25 years (yikes!), I tried numerous dietary changes, supplements, herbs, flower essences, homeopathic, and various other natural allergy remedies. Even though I saw some minor improvements, nothing I tried really made a significant difference for me. Thus, I learned to accept the fact that I was probably going to have allergies for the rest of my life. I had no desire to take allergy medications because of the long-term side effects, so I learned to manage the allergies as best I could, primarily through diet and supplements. The good news is that a few years ago I did find a natural solution that worked for me, and it has worked well for many others.
