Hello Water Friend,

Discussing the benefits of drinking lemon water has been, by far, the most popular topic on my website since I started it over 10 years ago.

I have literally received hundreds of comments and questions from people all over the world about lemon water, which led me to further in-depth research on this topic.

I grew up in Arizona and we had a few lemon trees in our yard. Thus, making lemonade and setting up a lemonade stand was a favorite summer activity. I definitely took the easy, free access to lemons for granted!

Just a few of the health benefits of lemon water include liver stimulant, digestive aid, antibacterial and antiviral agent, and it may help to purify the blood and lower blood pressure.

The Health Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water

I remember first learning about the health benefits of drinking lemon water probably twenty-five years ago. At that time, I was told that drinking lemon water first thing in the morning was especially good for cleansing the liver.

In my nutrition studies, I learned that lemons are a good source of citric acid, potassium, calcium, phosphorous and magnesium.

Recently I was given a large bagful of fresh, hand-picked Arizona lemons. And someone else asked me, “Are there any health benefits of drinking lemon water?”

I took these two events as a hint that I needed to know more about lemons. It was time to do a little more research. What I found is truly amazing.
