WBH response: Maurin, thank you for visiting and giving positive feedback. To answer your question about the recipe of lemon and water in a lemon water drink, it really depends on your health condition.

The most important thing to know is that it is always a good idea to start with a weak dilution of lemon in water, because drinking too much lemon in water too fast can cause detoxification symptoms such as headache, fatigue, bowel changes, or muscle aches.

How much lemon you start with really depends on how “clean” your diet is. If you are eating primarily whole foods – vegetables, fruits, whole grains, fish - then you will have less toxicity in your body and you can drink a higher dilution of lemon in water.

People who eat primarily healthy whole foods, can easily drink one-half lemon in 12 ounces of water two or three times a day.

If you have been eating more acid-producing foods, including animal proteins -- beef, chicken, turkey, milk, dairy products – and/or processed and packaged foods, sugar and white starches, then you will have more toxicity in your body and you should start with a lower dilution of lemon in water.

In this case, I would recommend starting with one-fourth lemon in 12 ounces of water once or twice a day and then gradually increasing to one-half lemon in the same amount of water two or three times a day for therapeutic benefits.

Since drinking lemon water can help the body to get rid of acidic waste from the body (including uric acid), you should notice changes over time with the uric acid problem. Some people do experience weight loss also. But it is not a quick fix.

It takes a long time for the body to become acidic and it will take some time for the body to become more alkaline, which is the much healthier.

You will get added benefits of drinking lemon water if you limit the amount of acid-producing foods you eat and increase your intake of plant-based foods.

By doing so, you will experience the alkalizing benefits of lemon water more quickly. Carbonated beverages are especially acid-forming in the body, so avoid them if possible.
